Bridal Tiaras and Headbands
What is the difference between bridal tiaras and headbands? Traditional bridal tiaras tend to be symmetrical with a peaked centre. Headbands may not be symmetrical in style and some designs set the embellishment off to one side.
These bridal tiaras and headbands can be as simple or elaborate as you wish. We have some great ideas for simple tiara band embellishments and some techniques for more intricate designs that you can develop as you wish.

The Wedding Headband below uses the traditional technique of wiring 4mm pearls to the headband. It then shows you how to create the pearl loops and set the 6mm and 12mm 2-hole candy beads in place to create a more formal design.
Another Preciosa design is the Winter Princess tiara. This uses the same wiring technique but uses the 2-hole chilli beads and thorn beads to create a beautiful headpiece.
The wiring technique is taken a stage further in the Bridal Beauties tiara, again by Preciosa. This will show you how to twist the wire to attach delicate small beads. Here, pips and tiny fire-polished beads are used to create lovely wired flowers which can then be bent into position.
It also shows you how to bind tape around the tiara band to create a professional finish.
This traditional twisted wire technique is very versatile and can easily be adapted to create other accessories such as hair combs and clips.
